A good sound card, with a decent range of sound effects, albeit only useful for a couple of Kato models. Three different whistles, a bell, drain, and coupler sound effects are available. The chuffing sound can be synchronised with the speed of the train, while the brake sound will play until the train stops. If the train is stationary, the same button plays a brake release sound. When drifting, another button will cut out the chuffing sound, which with the brake sound effect, can be used to replicate the train gliding to a halt.
Although it doesn't have the Sound Synchronised model seen on some other cards that replicate the momentum setting on some DC controllers, it's easy enough to get the same sort of realism just by using your controller more carefully, so that's no great loss.
