Information for buyers outside the UK
We're thrilled to welcome hobbyists from around the globe to our virtual platform, and while you may be miles away, your passion for model railways brings us together. We have regular customers all over the world and we'd be delighted to add some more! To ensure a smooth journey for our international customers, we've created this helpful guide to navigate postage and tax considerations.
Postage:
- Automatic Removal of UK VAT: When you enter a non-UK billing address during checkout, UK VAT (Value Added Tax) will automatically be removed from your order total. This means you pay the base price of the items without the additional UK tax.
- Airmail vs. Surface Mail: For overseas orders, your package will typically be sent via Airmail for faster delivery. Heavier items may be sent by Surface mail or courier, based on their weight and your preference. Please note that Surface mail can take significantly longer than Airmail.
- Postage Calculation: The cost of postage is calculated based on the weight and destination of your order. You'll see the specific postage charge at checkout before confirming your purchase. If these look excessive then please contact us for a bespoke quotation.
- Enhanced Insurance and Expedited Services: If you require extra protection or faster delivery, we offer optional insurance and expedited service options. Contact us via email for a quote before placing your order.
- Delivery Estimates: While we strive to process orders within 24 hours, please allow:
- 3-5 days for delivery within the UK.
- 5-7 days for Europe.
- 7-14 days for Rest of World.
- 2-5 weeks for Europe (Surface mail).
- 6-12 weeks for Rest of World (Surface mail).
Tax:
- Import Duties and Taxes: Please be aware that you may be liable for import duties and taxes levied by your own country's customs authorities upon receiving your order. These charges are not included in your Train Trax purchase price and are your responsibility to settle with your local customs office.
- Duty-Free Limits: Some countries have duty-free limits for imported goods. It's your responsibility to be familiar with your country's specific regulations and limitations to avoid unexpected charges.
Additional Information:
- We accept payment by credit/debit card via Stripe, PayPal, and Cash/Cheques by arrangement (UK buyers only).
- Unfortunately, we do not accept cheques or money orders in any other currency apart from GBP (British Pounds Sterling).
- We offer a 60-day returns policy for purchases you're not happy with, but return postage costs are not refundable unless the item arrives damaged due to our negligence.
