Description
"Resort Shirakami" is a temporary rapid train that runs between Akita and Aomori Stations via the Gono Line, which goes around the scenic spots of the Shirakami Mountains, Aoike, and Senjojiki, which are registered as World Heritage Sites.
With the timetable revision on December 4, 2010, the HB-E300 series of new hybrid diesel railcars was introduced when the Tohoku Shinkansen Shin-Aomori opened. A timetable is set up in consideration of the convenience of users when operating in connection with the Shinkansen.
The HB-E300 series hybrid railcar is equipped with a large fixed window with a good view, a rotary reclining seat, a semi-private room box seat, an observation room and an event space. It is a sightseeing train of eco-friendly vehicles equipped with an air reservoir and compatible with the "natural environment".
