Description
Prototype Information:
The E657 series was introduced in 2011 as a limited express type AC/DC train for the Joban Line, and is active as "Hitachi" and "Tokiwa."
In line with the 2023 Ibaraki Destination Campaign, the E657 series has been painted in the image of the old E653 series "Fresh Hitachi", attracting the attention of many railway fans not only along the line. The actual vehicle is available in all five colors, and KATO will commercialize green first.
We will commercialize the K17 formation painted in the E653 series revival color green. It is a suitable vehicle to run alongside the vehicles active in JR East and as a collection in 5 colors in the future.

・Commercialized K17 formation belonging to Katsuta Rolling Stock Center
・Reproduces the revival painting inspired by the E653 series “Fresh Hitachi” (green)
・Reproduces different symbol marks for each formation (green: Kasumigaura and Hobikisen)
・AC/DC train Reproduces the insulators and high-voltage equipment around the unique pantograph, the train radio antenna on the roof, and the WiMAX antenna (some parts may have different shapes because they are reusing conventional products).The front and side windows are colored green, just like the actual vehicle.
・Adopts a slotless motor to achieve even smoother and quieter running performance
・The intermediate connection part is equipped with a body-mounted KATO coupler tightly connected type and a damper between the car bodies as standard
・Underfloor equipment, trolley, and between the car bodies Bumper and dummy coupler for the first car are gray and destination display stickers are included.
