Description
The 287 series is a DC limited express train developed by JR West based on the 683 series.
It was introduced in 2011 as a vehicle with improved safety, comfort, and convenience, replacing the conventional 183 series and 381 series. In addition to being active as the ``Kounotori'', commercial operation began in March 2012 as the ``Kuroshio'' to replace the conventional 381 series, and is still active today.
-While the design is common to the 287 series ``Kuroshio'' and 287 series ``Kounotori'', the ocean green band under the side window of the vehicle emphasizes the image of ``Kuroshio''
- Rounded front shape, distinctive head/tail lights
- Head/tail lights are lit (additional set Kumoha 286 is not equipped with head/tail lights). Kumoha 287-15 has a light off switch. In addition, the headlights on the driver's cab are reproduced in electric color to express the difference from the "Kounotori" vehicle.
