The 289 series is a DC express train that was created by modifying the 683 series 2000s used on the Shirasagi limited express to replace the 381 series previously used on the Kuroshio, Kounotori, Kinosaki, and Hashidate limited express trains. Major changes can be seen, including the removal of AC equipment from the roof, the removal of equipment from the undercarriage in the center of the car, and a change in window layout due to the redesign of the Green Car. The 289 series used on the Kounotori and Kinosaki limited express trains is available in four-car and three-car configurations, with a maximum of seven cars operated. This product will feature the 289 series currently in service on the Kounotori and Kinosaki limited express trains. We will also be producing a new Kuroha 288, which features a new roof and undercarriage with the removal of AC equipment, as well as a redesigned Green Car. Enjoy this set alongside the various other train models found in the Kansai region.
