Description

The Seibu Railway 101 Series early type appeared in 1969 alongside the opening of the Seibu Chichibu Line. Designed for mountain-route operation, the type combined high power with strong braking performance and became one of Seibu Railway's core suburban trains.

This 6-car set represents formation 201 after air-conditioning and in the later single-yellow livery, with the former warm grey window band removed. It is a useful partner for Seibu Chichibu Line scenes alongside the 5000 Series Red Arrow and E851 cement train.
