Description
The 455 Series was an AC/DC express EMU introduced in 1965 for 50 Hz electrified routes, developed from the earlier 451 Series for use on steeper line sections. The type became associated with express services linking Ueno with the Tohoku region.
This KATO set represents the 455 Series express 'Bandai' as a six-car formation in the JNR-era express colour scheme of red No. 13 with cream No. 4 banding.
