Description
This KATO 6-car set represents JR West 12 Series passenger coaches used on event and excursion trains, including the well-known SL Kita Biwako services. The prototype 12 Series coaches were built by JNR from 1969 to 1978 and became widely used across Japan, apart from Hokkaido.
The model is based on JR West vehicles from the Aboshi General Rolling Stock depot's Miyahara branch around 2018. It is intended for use behind suitable steam, diesel or electric locomotives and includes headmark options for popular JR West special trains.
