Description

The 223 Series 2000 was introduced in 1999 and became one of JR West's key suburban and rapid-service EMUs in the Kansai area.

These KATO sets represent 'Special Rapid Service' stock as seen with later front fall-prevention bellows, allowing customers to build modern JR West formations and combine them with 225 Series stock where appropriate.

• The 4-car set is arranged for coupled operation and has no traction tyres.
