Description
●The 273 series began operation in April 2024 as a new type of vehicle for the "Yakumo" limited express train that runs between Okayama and Izumo City. It is characterized by its body color called "Yakumo Bronze," which is based on the concept of "a body that resonates with the scenery of the San'in and Hakubi lines and stands out in nature," and the adoption of the latest "natural pendulum system with on-board control" to improve ride comfort. Of the 11 trains, both leading cars of the 1st to 6th and 11th trains have through doors on the front, but the 7th and 9th trains, Kumoha 272, and the 8th and 10th trains, Kumoha 273, have a non-through structure. Normally, it is operated as a 4-car train, but when there are many passengers, it is operated as an 8-car train by coupling two trains together.
