Description

The 381 Series was JNR's only production tilting EMU for commercial service. After the transition to JR, the Shinano fleet based at Jinryo received a variety of changes, including grey bogies and underfloor equipment, smaller side JR marks and permanently fitted front gangway equipment.

This 3-car add-on set is designed for use with the 10-2037 6-car basic set, allowing a full 9-car Shinano formation to be recreated.

• KATO body-tilting mechanism reproduces the inward lean of the prototype on curves.
• Headlights, tail lights and train-name display illuminate using white LEDs, with light-off switches on leading cars.
• Convertible train marks include Shinano illustrated mark, Spur Tsugaike / Happo, Inaji and Special.
• Cars from this add-on set can be stored in the book case of the basic set.
• DCC friendly.
