Description
The 883 Series was introduced in 1995 to speed up and improve limited express services on the Nippo Main Line. It was JR Kyushu's first tilting train and Japan's first commercial AC tilting train. After refurbishment from 2005 onwards, the fleet gained its current metallic blue appearance.
This special 7-car set represents AO-1 from Oita Rolling Stock Center, carrying the 30th anniversary wrapping applied from April 2025. It features the distinctive commemorative logos, catchphrases on both leading cars and the first-batch front-end style with three illuminated fog lights.
