Description
The 50 series passenger cars were introduced in 1977 to replace older passenger cars, and were used for local trains on regional trunk lines. These were divided into the 50 series 0 series (without electric heating), primarily for Honshu, the 50 series 2000 series (with electric heating), and the 50 series 51 series for Hokkaido. The Oha Fu 50 featured a conductor's compartment and the flexible configuration of passenger cars allowed it to be used in a wide range of configurations, from long formations of 10 or more cars to two-car formations. This product features the 2000 series with electric heating, in its post-JR configuration with the JR mark added to the side of the Oha Fu 50.
Combine this with the ED78 1st generation JR specification, EF71 1st generation JR specification, and the ED75 700 JR specification (scheduled for release in February) to recreate the red trains of the Tohoku region during the early days of JR's transition. Experience thelineage of local trains in the Tohoku region, from older passenger cars to the 50 series and 701 series AC electric trains, in N gauge.
