Description
The E3 series is a vehicle introduced for the Akita Shinkansen, which is the second direct Shinkansen line following the Yamagata Shinkansen that opened in 1997. It appeared as a mini Shinkansen with a body cross section corresponding to the rolling stock limit of the conventional line between the Tazawako Line and the Ou Main Line. The base is white with a pink belt and metallic gray paint on the hem. Due to the timetable revision in 2014, the operation of the Akita Shinkansen was replaced with the E6 series, and after withdrawing from the Akita Shinkansen, the "Komachi" logo was removed, and it was combined with the E5 series and operated as "Nasuno".
