Description
The special cars are mainly used by the Imperial family as part of the E655 series Nagomi "Wa". They are attached to the middle of the E655 series Nagomi "Wa", which was introduced in October 2007 as the next generation joyful train, and are used as an imperial train or for state guests. The E655 series, which is made up of "high-grade cars", has an innovative style that combines sharpness and a sense of solidity, and the body color is painted with a majola paint that changes from purple to brown depending on the light, giving it a calm yet gorgeous appearance, making it suitable for an imperial train when it is connected to the special cars. The E655 series is an AC/DC electric train that can run on all electrified sections, and by installing a generator engine on the leading car Kuro E654, it can run on non-electrified sections by being towed by a diesel locomotive. The special cars have also been used as test runs on the E657 series and E257 series.
