KATO's first OO-9 (Double O Nine) narrow-scale model realized in collaboration with PECO, the steam locomotive " Small England <Princess>/<Prince>" preserved in the UK is now available!

-Princess/<Prince>” is a steam locomotive representing the Festiniog Railway, a preserved railway with a gauge of 597 mm, operated in Snowdonia National Park in the United Kingdom. It is a tank-type steam locomotive with a tender with two driving wheels manufactured by George England from 1863 to 1867, and is the oldest class on the railway. It was mainly responsible for slate (slate) transportation and passenger transportation, but in 1939 passenger operations were discontinued, and in 1946 the railway was abolished. When the Festiniog railway was closed in 1946, it was painted green, and the 'Princess' was the last slate train. In addition, the "Prince", which was being overhauled at that time, was left as it was, but it became the first revived steam engine when the railway was resumed later.

Currently, <Princess> (red) is statically preserved, and <Prince> is dynamically preserved, and is active in pulling passenger cars on preserved railways.

- We will commercialize two cars, <Princess (green)>, which reproduces the paint color of 1945 just before the Festiniog railway abolition, and <Prince (green)>, which was repainted in the early 1960s after the revival. It is possible to tow 3 cars such as PECO passenger cars and freight cars on the flat section, so please enjoy it with your favorite formation.

OO-9 <Double Oh Nine> is a 1/76 scale, 9mm gauge "narrow gauge" model railroad. It can run on the N gauge unitrack track. You can enjoy driving on the table while keeping the cute atmosphere of the actual train and the fine details unique to the steam locomotive. It is also compatible with the Unitrack Compact Series, so it is also recommended for driving in a small space layout unique to narrow scales.
