Description
The KiHa 52 was a two-engine general-purpose diesel railcar introduced in 1958. Based on the KiHa 20 series but longer at 21.3 m, it was widely used on local lines and routes with steep gradients.
This trailer version in metropolitan/capital-region orange livery is suitable for pairing with the powered KiHa 52 version to build a local diesel railcar formation. It represents a Niigata-built vehicle from the JNR era, as seen at Tsuruga Locomotive Depot around 1985.
