Set of two Tora 9000 open wagons.

By remodeling the Tora 23000 and Tora 35000, 2436 cars were manufactured from 1964 on a freight car for transporting chips (wood chips crushed from raw wood), which is the raw material for paper, in order to efficiently load small chips. The feature is that the loadable capacity is large due to the structure in which a wire mesh fence (Yellow Green No. 6) is added to the upper part of the wooden sliding door. In addition, when the tip gets wet during rain, it absorbs moisture and becomes heavy, and it was also operated with a rain shield covered to prevent it from scattering.

Kato has also released an optional part, wire netting cover frame, which will represent TORA 90000 in the state of carrying no cargo.

Kato’s latest plastic injection technology can reproduce such fine wire netting that you can see through it when no cargo is inside. In combination with the already released #8062 TORA 90000 filled with wood chips, you can either represent the freight car loaded or unloaded with wood chips carried as material for paper.
