Description

This KATO special project set represents JR East's E657 Series in E653 Series 'Fresh Hitachi' revival yellow livery. The E657 Series was introduced in 2011 for Joban Line limited express work and remains the main stock for Hitachi and Tokiwa services.

The revival liveries were applied in connection with the 2023 Ibaraki Destination Campaign, giving E657 trains colour schemes inspired by the earlier E653 Series Fresh Hitachi fleet. This yellow version represents K2 formation from Katsuta Rolling Stock Center.
