Description

The E8 Series entered service in March 2024 as the new train for Yamagata Shinkansen Tsubasa services. Based on the E6 Series, it adds practical improvements such as luggage space in every car and increased wheelchair space, while retaining a strong Yamagata identity through the purple, yellow and white colour scheme.

This special edition KATO 7-car set represents the full E8 formation, suitable for operation on its own or coupled to an E5 Series Yamabiko between Tokyo and Fukushima, just as on the prototype.
