Description

The Shinano Railway SR1 Series is the railway's first new train type, introduced to replace older 115 Series stock on services between Karuizawa and Myoko-Kogen. The design is based on the E129 Series, which has proven suitable for snowy regions.

This set represents the 200 sub-series, formation S204, with two pantographs and the distinctive silver body, bright red colour accents, fine waist stripes, gold cab-side stripe and Shinano Railway logos.

The compact two-car formation is useful for smaller layouts and can be paired with another set to reproduce a four-car formation.
