Description
-The E233 series 0 was introduced to the Chuo Line Rapid System in 2006. The T formation, which is basically used on the Chuo Line Rapid Service, and the H formation, which can be separated and also runs directly to the Ome, Itsukaichi and Fujikyuko Lines, are in use.
In 2022, the first green car was introduced on the Chuo Line E233 series in order to improve seated service. Unlike the conventional two-story green cars, the side doors are opened on both sides to speed up boarding and disembarking times. After trial runs, the trains were gradually incorporated into commercial trains from October 2024, and the 12-car train was formed by adding two green cars to the existing 10-car regular car formation. The green car service began in earnest in March 2025, when the incorporation into all 58 target formations was completed.
â—†The E233 series (T formation) that is active on the Chuo Line will be commercialized with the latest specifications that incorporate green cars.
