Description

This 2-car Green Car set is designed to add the new Chuo Line Green Cars to an existing KATO E233 Series Chuo Line formation.

The E233 Series 0 was introduced to the Chuo Line Rapid system in 2006. T formations are mainly used on Chuo Line Rapid services, while H formations can be split and also work through to the Ome, Itsukaichi and Fujikyuko lines.

From 2022, Green Cars were introduced to the Chuo Line E233 Series to improve seated service. Unlike traditional double-deck Green Cars, these vehicles have side doors on both sides to help speed up boarding and alighting. After trials, the cars were gradually added to commercial services from October 2024, creating 12-car trains by adding two Green Cars to existing 10-car formations. Full Green Car service began in March 2025 after the planned 58 formations had been equipped.

This set lets you reproduce the current Chuo Line appearance with Green Cars added to the train. It also pairs well with other modern Chuo/Sobu area stock such as KATO's E231 Series 500 Chuo/Sobu local line sets.
