Description

The E4 Series 'Max' was Japan's all-double-deck Shinkansen, developed after the E1 Series to provide very high capacity. E4 sets could run as 8-car formations or in coupled 16-car operation, and were also seen coupled with E3 'Tsubasa' trains.

This KATO set represents the E4 Series in its later Joetsu Shinkansen style, with the updated pink stripe and P5 formation details.
