The Class 77 is an upgraded version of the UK Class 66, designed for the European market, featuring enhancements such as compliance with the EU’s stricter emissions regulations, increased power output, and the inclusion of local safety systems. The locomotive also boasts improved cab equipment, e.g. air conditioning. Visual differences from the Class 66 can be seen in various details, such as the presence or absence of air conditioning on the roof of the cab and the side doors.
