Description

This special 6-car set combines JR East E721 Series 0 and 1000 stock from the Sendai area. The E721 was introduced in 2007 for AC electrified routes in southern Tohoku, including Sendai-area services and the Sendai Airport Access Line. Its low-floor body, small-diameter wheels and step-free entrances were designed for regional platforms and improved accessibility.

The 1000 Series appeared in 2016 as a four-car fixed-formation development. This special set represents a non-one-man-operation formation combining the 0 and 1000 Series, useful for modern Tohoku-area layouts.

• Special 6-car set formed from Sendai Rolling Stock Center P-7 and P4-11 formations.
• Represents cars without one-man display panels beside the doors.
• Different underfloor colours reproduced: grey equipment on the 0 Series and blue-grey equipment on the 1000 Series.
• Different stripe colours reproduced: green/white/red for the 0 Series and green/white/pink for the 1000 Series.
• Car numbers, affiliation markings and car numbering printed.
• Different passenger-window size opposite the toilet reproduced for each series.
• Head and tail lights light up, with four headlights on each leading car and an on/off switch.
• New PS109 round-pipe pantograph.
• DT72/TR256 low-floor bogies with small 5.2 mm wheels and snowploughs fitted.
• Cab-end coupling arrangements reproduce dummy couplers, coupling skirts and coupler covers as appropriate.
• Leading-car coupling couplers can couple with 701 Series stock.
• Intermediate connections use body-mounted close-coupled couplers without hooks.
• Front display fitted as 'Sendai'; replacement displays for 'Shin-Shirakawa' and blank are included.
• Destination display stickers included.
