Description
The KiHa 52 was a two-engine general-purpose diesel railcar introduced in 1958. Based on the KiHa 20 series but longer at 21.3 m, it was well suited to regional lines and routes with steep gradients.
This trailer version in general colour is suitable for pairing with the powered KiHa 52 version to create small local-line diesel formations. It represents a Niigata Iron Works-built vehicle from the JNR era, as allocated to Yonago Locomotive Depot before 1978.
