Description

This KATO 5-car set represents JR Hokkaido's 789 Series 1000 AC limited express train, used on services centred on Sapporo. The prototype works as 'Kamui' between Sapporo and Asahikawa and as 'Suzuran' between Sapporo and Muroran.

The 789 Series 1000 appeared in 2007, replacing older 781 Series trains and continuing the sharp, silver-bodied JR Hokkaido limited express look. KATO's model captures the high cab, non-gangway front end, snow-country underfloor detail and the distinctive stainless-steel body finish.
