Description
- The Seibu Railway 5000 series is a special express train with reserved seats that was introduced in 1969 when the Seibu Chichibu Line opened. In 1970, it won the Blue Ribbon Award from the Railway Friendship Association. Nicknamed the "Red Arrow," it was operated on the "Chichibu" and "Okuchichibu" trains that connected Ikebukuro and Seibu Shinjuku to Seibu Chichibu, and the "Musashi" trains that connected Ikebukuro to Hanno. When it was introduced, it was a four-car train, but from 1974 to 1976, two intermediate cars were added, making it a six-car train. In 1993, the successor 10000 series express train was introduced, and it was retired in 1995.
- The 5000 series, which was the first "Red Arrow" on the Seibu Chichibu Line, which is celebrating its 55th anniversary, will be commercialized with a new car number. You can enjoy the scenery of the old Seibu lines together with the simultaneously scheduled release of the 10-1358 Seibu Railway 101 Series (first model) new paint color and the 10-431 Seibu E851 Cement Train.
