Description

The Taiwan Railway EMU3000 is a modern express EMU introduced from the end of 2021 as a flagship train for Taiwan Railway. A large fleet was planned to replace older express stock and diesel-operated services, including Ziqiang express workings, Chuguang services and trains on the electrified South Link Line.

The design forms part of Taiwan Railway's wider design refresh, with a clean monochrome body and accent colours above the doors. Full-size trains are 12-car formations with 20 m-class bodies, including a business-class car known as Tengyunzuo.

This KATO red basic set provides one half of a 12-car EMU3000 formation and includes the powered car. It can be combined with the matching add-on set to recreate the full train.
