Description
- Night local train "Hayatama" is a night local train that ran 502.1 km between Nagoya and Tennoji via the Kansai Main Line, Kisei Main Line, and Hanwa Line. Since it was coupled with B-class sleeping cars, it was nicknamed to be compatible with the MARS system (a reservation and ticketing system for reserved seat tickets that has been in operation since the days of the Japanese National Railways). When it first started operation in 1959, it was called "Nanki", but the name was handed over to the diesel express train, and it was renamed "Hayatama" in the 1978 revision. The train was composed of old passenger cars such as 43 series and 35 series belonging to the Ryuka passenger and freight car district, 10 series light passenger cars, and 10 series sleeping cars from the Shingu driving district, and a postal baggage car was also coupled. In addition, the upbound 924 train from Tennoji was characterized by the fact that in addition to the passenger cars from Tennoji, one car departed from Wakayama City on the Kisei Main Line and was coupled in Wakayama.
â—†The third in the "Night Local Train" series is the "Hayatama" that connects Osaka and Nagoya via the Kisei Main Line. This train has a wide variety of locomotives and passenger cars, and locomotives such as the EF58 and DD13 from Ryuka Locomotive Depot that pulled the train are also scheduled to be released at the same time. In addition, the license plate for the DD13 that was used to pull the "Hayatama" between Wakayama City and Wakayama is also included.
