Description
●The NSE (3100 series) was introduced in 1963 as part of an effort to increase tourist transportation capacity. While it inherited specifications such as a low center of gravity and articulated structure from the conventional SE car (3000 series), the driver's seat was installed on the second floor in the leading car, and the leading section was a more deluxe vehicle with an observation car at the front. From 1977 to the following year, air conditioning units were added to improve cooling capacity. After the introduction of the new LSE (7000 series) in 1983, the car body was repaired, and various renovation works were carried out, such as changing the front nickname display to an automatic winding type and shape change (pentagonal to rectangular), changing the position of some doors due to the expansion of the cafe and shop corner, and changing the outer hood to a urethane core type. In addition, in 1997, one train was converted into the event express "Yume 70" to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the opening of Odakyu Electric Railway, and it became popular for its leading car with sofas and for the observation room and its gorgeously painted exterior.
◆A new lineup has been added to the Odakyu Romance Car NSE (3100 series), which has been popular across generations. The "Yume 70", which was refurbished in 1997 as an event express train with a rectangular front nickname display that automatically retracts, will also be released as a product.
