Description
The KiHa 181 Series was a JNR-era limited express diesel train that continued to work important non-electrified routes after the formation of JR. JR West examples were used on Sanin and cross-mountain services including Hakuto, Oki, Inaba, Kunibiki, Isokaze, Hamakaze and Asashio.
This KATO 5-car set represents JR West KiHa 181 vehicles allocated to the Kyoto General Driving Office around 1996, in JNR limited express colours with JR markings.
