This item uses Train Trax's website pre-order function. For simplicity of processing, each product will need to be placed on a seperate pre-order as they will probably arrive at different times. If more than one pre-order does arrive at a similar time then it will be possible to combine shipping charges.

The E4 Series Shinkansen was introduced in 1994 as the second-generation double-decker Shinkansen train after the E1 Series. It was operated in 16-car formations, consisting of two 8-car formations coupled together. It was also operated with other E4 Series trains and the E3 Series Yamagata Shinkansen "Tsubasa." The 16-car formation had a capacity of 1,634 passengers, the largest capacity for a high-speed train in the world. Since the introduction of the E5 Series, it has primarily been used on the Joetsu Shinkansen, and in 2014, its stripe color was changed from yellow to pink. Starting with this product, the motor will be changed to a slotless motor. The car number will also be changed from P19 to P9.

Main Features

1. E4 Series Shinkansen "Max Toki" - P9 formation belonging to the Niigata Shinkansen Rolling Stock Center is now available as a product. It accurately reproduces the pink stripe and the logo mark on the side featuring three crested ibises. The car number and car markings are beautifully expressed (the information stickers next to the passenger doors of cars 7 and 8 are also printed).
2. The streamlined car shape and beautiful coloring of the actual car, full of a sense of speed, are faithfully reproduced.

3. Cars 7 and 8 come with built-in interior light panels. By combining them with separately sold interior lights, the difference in lighting colors between green seats and regular seats can be reproduced.

4. Rooftop equipment such as PS201 pantographs, lightning arresters, and antennas are accurately reproduced.
5. The use of a slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet running.

⑥The first floor of the intermediate powered car (E459-200) is made see-through.
⑦Includes stickers including exterior markings, destinations, and seat signs next to the green car doors, which vary depending on the era.
⑧Head/tail lights light up (with switch to turn them off).

⑨Equipped with a front coupling mechanism that can be coupled to other types with realistic movement that approaches that of the actual vehicle.

⑩The intermediate car coupling part is equipped with KATO diaphragm coupler PAT. as standard.
⑪DCC friendly.
