Description
The EF65-1000 series was introduced in 1969 as a general-purpose DC electric locomotive for flatland use, with multi-unit control and cold-climate capability. It worked a wide range of trains, from Blue Train sleeper services to general freight.
This model represents the EF65 1000 series around 1990, when the sleeper express 'Seto' gained a lounge car and before the window H-rubbers were changed to black. It is a useful locomotive for 24 Series 25 'Seto/Asakaze' formations and for Orient Express '88 operation.
