Description
The EF15 was Japan's standard electric freight locomotive, with 202 locomotives built between 1947 and 1958. The class worked widely on DC electrified routes, from Kuroiso on the Tohoku Main Line to Shimonoseki on the Sanyo Main Line, and remained in service until around 1987.
This model represents a Toshiba-built standard EF15 of the No. 46-129 group, as seen at Takasaki No. 2 Locomotive Depot around 1978. It is a useful locomotive for JNR-era freight trains and can be paired with a wide range of period wagons.
This release updates the model with a slotless motor and spoked leading wheels, while retaining the core specification of the previous version.
