Description
The DE10 was introduced by JNR in 1966 as a versatile diesel locomotive for shunting, branch-line passenger work and freight duties. A total of 708 locomotives were built, and the class became familiar across Japan thanks to its semi-centre cab, offset bonnet lengths and distinctive five-axle drive arrangement.
This warm-region version is suited to layouts featuring freight yards, passenger stock shunting and non-electrified local lines. It can be used with a wide range of freight wagons and passenger coaches.
