●The 787 series "36 Plus 3" is the 12th D&S (Design & Story) train of JR Kyushu, and was remodeled from one 787 series train and began operation in October 2020. It is a tourist express train that runs around the seven prefectures of Kyushu in a counterclockwise direction from Thursday to Monday, and can be boarded on each operating section each day. The entire interior and exterior were redesigned for the remodel, and the exterior is painted glossy black with gold decorations, which is different from the image of the existing 787 series. In addition, the value of the riding experience itself is emphasized rather than looking out the window, and the windows are made with plenty of shoji screens, and all the cars are green cars with an interior that makes use of wood grain. In addition, a buffet has been revived for the first time in 17 years for the 787 series, and drinks, snacks, souvenirs and goods are sold.
