Description

The Yo 5000 was used as a brake van for the container express 'Takara' from 1959. It developed from the Yo 3500 brake van, with running gear modified to two-stage link suspension so it could run at up to 85 km/h. Later, newly built Yo 5000 vehicles were added, and the type was used nationwide as a conductor's brake van for freight trains.
