Description
The Kiha 25 series is a general-purpose diesel railcar from JR Central that debuted in 2010. Its exterior and interior design are based on the 313 Series (4th batch).
The 1500 series is a group of second batches that debuted after 2014. Its distinctive features include a beadless, smooth stainless steel body, a skirt designed to protect against deer collisions, and the lack of roof-mounted whistles and snowplows. This product is the first to feature the Kiha 25 series 1500, which serves as the mainstay of passenger transport on JR Central's local lines. This new model employs a slotless motor for power. It also features a different car number than previous models. It can be operated in compact two-car formations, or coupled together to form a four-car formation, as seen on the actual trains. It's also ideal for small layouts.
