Description
The RAe II is an AC/DC electric railcar exclusively operated by Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) for international trains. It first appeared in the 1960s and operated on the first-class international "TEE" (Trans Europ Express) train, including the "Gotthard" between Zurich and Milan. It was later downgraded and repainted, remaining in service as the "Eurocity" until around 1999. After its retirement, it was designated a historic vehicle by the Swiss Federal Railways, and around 2003, one train was restored to its "TEE" appearance with some upgrades to its equipment. It is still in use today as an event train.
This RAe II, which has been revived in the form of the flagship international "TEE" train of the past and is still in service today, is now available as a product. It is an essential part of the history of international trains connecting various parts of Europe. Enjoy driving it alongside various international trains currently in service.
