C11 No. 190 was built in 1940 and later allocated to Kumamoto after earlier work in the Tohoku region and at Haiki. In 1966 it was selected to haul the Imperial Train during Emperor Showa's visit connected with the Oita National Sports Festival and subsequent inspection tour in Kumamoto Prefecture.
This model represents C11 190 in its Imperial Train specification, with the distinctive green-accented number plates and rods used for that special duty. It is a natural companion for KATO's Imperial Train No.1 formation in Showa-period specification, but also works as a striking collection piece in its own right.
