Now here is something that most users of Unitrack will not have tried, but I can recommend. This ballast is a perfect (and I mean perfect) match for the moulded plastic base on single track Unitrack pieces. Adding ballast around the track improves realism and reduces the overscale height of the moulded roadbed - particularly between the two parallel tracks in a double track set up. It is easy to add: shape the ballast by hand and then fix in place either with diluted white (PVA) glue or, as I did, with Woodland Scenics scenery glue. I recommend it!

Very pleased with this ballast. I was having problems ballasting the space between the sleepers on Unitrack using another brand of ballast. I was advised to add ballast, brush gently leaving the sleepers clean but some ballast between each sleeper, then add glue. With another brand the gentlest of brushing removed it from the area between the sleepers. I decided to try the Kato ballast, not only is the match with the trackbed 100% but it is possible to brush it gently and achieve the desired result. Highly recommended for N scale. And ... the usual excellent service from Traintrax.
