Description

The EH500 is a two-section, eight-axle AC/DC electric freight locomotive used by JR Freight on heavy container and tank trains. A total of 82 were built, with the class working between the Tokyo area and Tohoku, as well as on freight through the Kanmon Tunnel section.

This 3rd form new-colour version represents the later appearance of the class, including the bold 'Kintaro' character branding. It is a strong general-purpose locomotive for modern Japanese freight layouts.
