Description
When you think of the Glacier Express, you think of the international tourist train that represents Switzerland. It runs through the European Alps in southwestern Switzerland, from Zermatt to St. Moritz, and is operated by two railway companies, the Rhaetian Railway and the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway, taking a leisurely 8 hours to complete. It is popular as a panoramic tourist train that allows you to enjoy the majestic Alps from the train window. Katohas produced another run of the historic blue dining car that is still in use on the Rhaetian Railway.
WR3811 is a group of dining cars manufactured when the Rhaetian Railway started its dining car service, and is equipped with both a kitchen and a dining room. When it was introduced, it had a red exterior, but it was renovated and repainted to a dark blue color to match the ACPC (ALPINE CLASSIC PULLMAN EXPRESS) in the late 1990s. It can currently be seen in use as a dining car on the Glacier Express and as part of the EwⅠ passenger car formation.

The Gourmino restaurant car is a prefect companion to the other Kato RhB passenger cars, they run smoothly and they have a feature which is not mentioned in the description,!! The Table Lamps illuminate when the car is in motion, (those users using DCC will have constant lighting!)
As supplied the Gourmino is fitted with standard N Gauge Rapido couplers but Kato close couplers are supplied and changing over is straightforward.
