[A limestone transport train towed by a DF50 in double-units on the Tosan Main Line]
A total of 20 Hoki 5200 cars were manufactured by Hitachi between 1958 and 1961. It is a 30-ton open-top hopper car with a unique exterior shape. For self-weight loading, there were two cars with an operating room for opening and closing the gate-type bottom door on the car body by air pressure for each train, and these cars were always included in the train. These were private freight cars owned by Tosa Lime Industry, and were used for limestone transport trains that transported limestone from the Tosa Lime Industry Private Line to the cement factory via Togano and Tanogo on the Tosan Main Line, and transported 100,000 tons of limestone per month towed by a DF50 in double-units over a distance of approximately 13 km.
◆KATO will be producing a limestone transport train that was once a famous freight train seen in Shikoku, which ran between Togano and Tanogo on the Tosan Main Line. A 9-car set including a 2-car single set and a car with an operating room will be released. You can enjoy it together with the 7009-4 DF50 Shikoku type, which will be released at the same time. In addition, by collecting two 9-car sets and the 10-2008 DF50 Shikoku type 2-car set, you can recreate a full DF50 double-headed traction formation.
