This email is appearing on a Monday rather than my normal Friday, as I had a busy weekend at the Leeds Model Railway show. I thought it was a great show, with a very high standard of layouts on display (despite comments to the contrary appearing on social media). It was an experiment for Train Trax to attend a show, and I certainly learnt a lot from the experience! It was fantastic to meet with some of my customers in person and chat things through. One conversation I had repeatedly was how people had tried other track systems in the past and got frustrated, only to then try Unitrack and then never look back! If anyone's planning an exhibition layout using KATO then get in touch and I'll try my best to assist in whatever way I can. Lets try and spread the word more widely about how great the system is!
After sending this email, I'll be taking a few days off to spend time with family over half term. There will be no despatch between 25th - 30th October inclusive, but you can continue to place orders for me to deal with when I'm back at HQ on the 31st. I will be checking emails etc occasionally so if you have any queries or problems don't hesitate get in touch.
I've just had confirmation of pricing of the latest Kato USA N EMD SD70M Flat Radiator Engines , so they are now available to pre-order on the website. It includes locomotives in Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern paint schemes!
A special addition to this new run of SD70M locomotives are two specialized Union Pacific engines: #1979, the "We Are One" locomotive, and #4015 which will come in special "Excursion Use" paint. Unit 4015 shares its road number with one of the UP's largest locomotives, the 4-8-8-4 "Big Boy". SD70M #4015 has been used in conjunction with the 4-8-8-4 #4014 in excursion outings, and has unique paint detailing that differentiate it from other SD70Ms. Don't expect these schemes to be repeated in the future - pre-order while you can!
Analog(DC) versions of these Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific engines are scheduled to release in the US in April 2023, with DCC versions coming in May 2023 and DCC & Sound versions in July 2023. They should be with me in the UK about 4 weeks later.
A reminder of the September announcements from Japan. They include a special edition E2 series 1000 series Shinkansen 200 series with attractive green livery, a new colour of truss bridge, updated station platforms and the pocket line freight train in black, which should arrive quite soon. See further down this email for more item details and the pre-order links. Apologies - I don't have room to stock the HO items at present! Find them here: https://traintrax.co.uk/preorders-reserve-them-here-c-51-html/page/2
Supplies of KATO and KatoUSA parts have now arrived and are listed here: https://traintrax.co.uk/kato-spares . If you need other replacement parts, then send me an email (include the part number if you can find it) and I'll see what I can do. This is a service to modellers, with very little profit for me on each item, but I think it's a great shame when models are underused or thrown away for want of replacement small parts.
Enjoy your modelling and keep in touch.
Kind regards,
Ian
Hello,
I'm writing this Friday email a bit earlier than normal, as later today I'm expecting a huge delivery of stock, which will probably take me the rest of the day to unpack and process.
There are three important news items from Train Trax this week:
1. I'll be at the Leeds show on Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd October. This is the first time Train Trax has had a stand at an exhibition, so is a bit of an experiment. If you're planning on coming and want to take a look at any particular item, then please do let me know so I can bring it along (no obligation to buy). Otherwise due to space constraints I'm only planning on bringing the most popular items from the website. If you want to collect orders at the show then please place your order as normal and add a note when prompted - I can refund postage after successful collection.
2. If possible this month, place your orders before the 21st. Almost Immediately after the Leeds show I'll be taking a few days off to spend time with family over half term. There will be no despatch between 25th - 30th October inclusive, but you can continue to place orders for me to deal with when I'm back at HQ on the 31st.
3. The third main item of news is the end of September announcements from Japan.

In other news, the more observant will have noticed that supplies of KATO and KatoUSA parts are beginning to arrive. If you need replacement parts, then send me an email (include the part number if you can find it) and I'll see what I can do. This is a service to modellers, with very little profit for me on each item, but I think it's a great shame when models are underused or thrown away for want of replacement small parts.
I feel the need to remind you that you're receiving this email because you signed up for it at some point, but you're welcome to update your preferences or unsubscribe from this list if you no longer want it. I take privacy and the security of your data seriously.
If you were wondering, the deliveries due today mainly comprise of restocks of track, accessories and a few buildings. All should be online by the end of Friday. Look out on social media next week for special offers and discounts on some of these items.
This weekend I'll again be heading for my local N Gauge Society meeting on Saturday. I've posted video of last time's T-TRAK layout on Youtube. It's a long video with a few KATO items running!
Kind regards,
Ian
In my last email newsletter I mentioned that I was off to The International N gauge Show (TINGS) for a look round. I'm really glad that I made the trip as there were some fantastic layouts and it was good to speak to a few customers. I also managed to spend a while with Hiroshi Kato, the president of KATO who was present in support of Gaugemaster's KATO stand. Mr Kato was a pleasure to speak with, and he was keen to strengthen the ties between Train Trax UK and his offices in Japan in various ways. If you have any feedback about KATO products (Unitrack, trains, accessories or scenics) then do let me know and I can pass them on. If you have any questions I can probably answer them myself, but if not I should be able to get an answer for you - do get in touch.
KATO USA September Announcement
Earlier this week I got notification of New release N Scale ES44 "GEVO" Engines coming from Kato USA! 2023 will see various brand new Florida East Coast paint versions coming alongside new road number releases of UP, BNSF, CSX "Boxcar", CP, and CN engines! DC, DCC and Sound fitted are all available to pre-order now - see below. DCC Sound versions will only be available for pre-orders - do place your order soon (ie before October) if you want one of these.

KATO Japan announcements:
As mentioned last time, at the beginning of the month, the latest KATO Japan announcements came out for items being delivered in January-March next year. Many items open for pre-order, but if anything else on either of the two KATO 'posters' takes your fancy please let me know and I'll get them in at TrainTrax's normal discounted pricing. Some prices may be tweaked due to currency variations between now and release - I'll be in touch to confirm if anything changes by more than £5.

Model Railway Magic - second hand items
This is just a reminder that as well as Train Trax, I run 'Model Railway Magic' which buys and sells pre-owned models from all manufacturers and in all scales. I believe in recycling and finding new lives for older items. This is great for the environment and also for keeping prices low to allow those on low budgets to be included in ‘the hobby’. I can deal with collections large and small. If you have any items you don't want any more, get in touch and I'll give you the fairest price I can whilst taking on the risk and bother associated with selling online. Most items are sold via eBay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/modelrailwaymagic .
Discount code - Thank you!
I hope all my customers agree that Train Trax offers the best pricing on KATO products in the UK, whilst also offering the best service. As a thank you for subscribing to this newsletter and your continuing support of Train Trax, I can currently offer an extra discount of 9% off until the end of September. Use the 'SEPT-9' coupon code at checkout. There is no minimum spend, and it can be used on sale items (but not pre-orders or items in the 'Just Arrived' category). This code is just for email subscribers - please don't share it with anyone else.
This weekend I'll again be heading for my local N Gauge Society meeting on Saturday, I hope to run some of the new arrivals and will probably share some video on social media in a few days time.
Kind regards,
Ian
As I sit down to write this I'm left with mixed feelings about some organisations social media postings/emails in response to recent events. We all need to inwardly acknowledge such an important piece of news, but somehow it all seems a bit undignified - quite unlike HM. I'll just leave you with this picture of a different royal to reflect on...

In other news, last week we announced a partnership with the Rail Riders Club. If you haven't come across them before do take a look. Membership benefits include a decent magazine as well as discounts to a wide range of railway related shops, businesses and attractions including 7.5% off at Train Trax.
The newest Swiss RhB items arrived a few weeks ago. They sold out quickly but I have now managed to re-stock from a different supplier - locomotives, containers and wagons are all available for the moment. Again, I'll quote a review of the wagons, they are "brilliant product very well detailed, smooth running, look very nice with container loaded". Other recent arrivals are listed below.
I'm still offering 5% discount to anyone who leaves a product review on the website. I've been making other improvements to the speed and usability of the website. Do let me know if you have any problems. In the case of password troubles, just use the Lost password function if you have difficulties logging in. Some people (only a very small minority) have reported trouble using Paypal. if you do have trouble then please do try again with the 'Credit Card (Stripe)' option. Stripe is our preferred high security payment provider, which often works better than Paypal.
At the beginning of the month, Latest KATO Japan announcements came out for items being delivered in January-March next year. I'm excited by the return of the Glacier Express, and the OO-9 Prince and Princess in Green. I've opened pre-orders for these and the Japanese 'Taki 1000' and '485' on the website, but if anything else on either of the two KATO 'posters' takes your fancy please let me know and I'll get them in at TrainTrax's normal discounted pricing. Some prices may be tweaked due to currency variations between now and release - I'll be in touch to confirm if anything changes by more than £5.

I hope all my customers agree that Train Trax offers the best pricing on KATO products in the UK, whilst also offering the best service. A quick reminder that if you can find it cheaper, in stock in the UK, I'll happily match that price.
This weekend I'll be heading for my local N Gauge Society meeting on Saturday morning, then to look around TINGS on Sunday afternoon. Perhaps I'll see you there.
Kind regards,
Ian
For the last few days I've been promoting the range of T-TRAK modules on social media. Click through to see a couple of modules that I made, and various links to some background information about this fabulous modular system. There's also a 10% discount code which will work until Monday 22nd August if you were thinking of trying it out. I currently have stock of all the different types of module kit (designed by members of the NGS Yorkshire Area Group and manufactured within Yorkshire). Each kit is simple to assemble and produces a baseboard ready to lay track. Uni-Track and cables available as optional extras. See the full T-TRAK range here

Late last week, the latest batch of Swiss RhB items arrived - locomotives, containers and wagons. The individual wagons sold out quickly but I still have some locos, containers and wagon sets available. I'm hoping for a re-stock of these in the next few weeks. To quote a review of the wagons, they are "brilliant product very well detailed, smooth running, look very nice with container loaded". Other recent arrivals are listed below.

A reminder that KATO Japan made their monthly announcement for the end of July. If there's anything you're interested in the 'poster' below let me know. I've made a few of these available to pre-order, but as these mostly appear to be re-releases or niche interest Train Trax will only list on request!

If you missed it in the last newletter, KatoUSA have officially announced the ALC-42 'Charger' sold both as individual loco
motives as well as in “Starter Series” and “Starter Set” packaging! Pre-orders are now open - see further below. These are due to arrive from December 2022 through to May of next year depending on the DCC or DCC sound configuration you want. If you see them cheaper elsewhere let me know and I'll match the price.
Remember, I carry a large range of N gauge locomotives, carriages, wagons and sets from Kato USA. Any Kato item not listed can be obtained to order, subject to availability, I source KATO items from the USA, Japan and Europe. So if you are just starting your layout or you are a seasoned Unitrack modeller I endeavour to have the products you are looking for!
Order with confidence through my website, join over 3,000 satisfied customers and be assured of competitive prices and my personal attention at all times.
Due to a combination of Royal Mail industrial action, a few days away and the August Bank holidays. there will be no orders despatched between Friday 26th August and Wednesday 31st August inclusive. Last orders at 2pm on Thursday 15th August, any orders placed after that won't be sent until 1st September.
Kind regards,
Ian
I send best wishes for 2023 to all email subscribers!
Two important things to note this time:
Firstly, the new and returning N gauge products from KATO Japan announced just before Christmas are now available to pre-order at Train Trax UK.

All available to pre-order in the usual place: https://traintrax.co.uk/preorders-reserve-them-here-c-51... Why pre-order? Only a limited quantity of each KATO release makes it to the UK. During last year there have been instances where a release has completely sold out before arrival. A pre-order guarantees that the item is yours, but there is no need for you to make payment until the items are in the UK. Unlike some retailers, I do try to keep pre-orders open until the item arrives if possible.
Secondly, I have launched a clearance sale today. Substantial discounts on all sorts of stuff - take a look. If you're interested there's two reasons why I'm doing this: primarily because such things are traditional around this time of year and also because I'm planning to move my store room to a much bigger unit (on the same site) in February. Less stock will make the move easier, and then I can spend the cash on re-stocking bigger and better than ever.

Clearance prices remain in place until the end of January, and there will be very limited re-stocking during this time across all lines. Get your orders in early! If you're looking for something in particular that shows as out of stock then please do get in touch.
It's very rare that anyone is disappointed with a KATO train, but just in case they are, I'm offering free returns for any items bought in December. I aim to make this as hassle free as possible - just let me know before Jan 15th by emailing sales@traintrax.co.uk and I'll sort it out!
Keep well and keep modelling.
Ian
