Description

The 701 Series 1000 is a lightweight stainless-steel AC suburban EMU used by JR East in the Tohoku region. The type was introduced from 1993 to replace older locomotive-hauled passenger trains and JNR-era EMUs on commuter and suburban services.

This KATO set represents the Sendai colour version as a two-car formation. It is based on F2-24 from Sendai Rolling Stock Centre and includes a powered car, so it can be run on its own or combined with other compatible 701 Series sets.
