Commercialization of the 12-series formation of the JR East Takasaki Rolling Stock Center, including the SL escort car Oya 12.

Series 12 Passenger Cars are used in such special trains as 'Steam Locomotive train Gumma, Minakami' or 'Steam locomotive train Gumma, Yokokawa', drawn by D51 and other steam locomotives, as well as in special trains on other lines in JR East Japan's areas.

OYA 12's are special cars modified on the basis of SUHAFU 12 belonging to the Takasaki Train Depot and used as reserve cars to accompany and move a steam locomotive, move in or out of factories or to travel to a distant area to make a special train.

To pull the trains, such locomotives are recommendable as EF64 1000s of JR East Japan, #2016-A D51, with Sublights, and #7008-G DD51 800 belonging to Takasaki Train Depot.

●Oha 12, Suhafu 12
: The prototype is the appearance of the JR East Takasaki Vehicle Center Takasaki Branch around October 2019.
The Suhafu 12 is the first product of the late model 100 series. The exterior is reproduced with an external through-hole, a vertical end window, and no JR mark on the side
. The train radio antenna on the roof, the toilet tank under the floor, the black H-rubber on the front and side windows, and the partially omitted white stripes are reproduced
. The cooler is a slit type AU13E, and some coolers of Oha 12 368 and 369 are reproduced as mesh type AU13
. The front part of the brake room side of the Suhafu 12 is equipped with a body-mounted type Arnold coupler, and the intermediate coupling part of each car is equipped with a tightly coupled body-mounted coupler. Replacement knuckle coupler included.

●Oya 12
: Reproduces the appearance with the blinds on the side windows lowered. No radio antenna on the roof, white stripe on front through door, JR mark on side, appearance is reproduced.
・Indication on intermediate coupling surface is reproduced
.・Both ends of couplers are equipped with body-mounted Arnold couplers. Replacement knuckle coupler included.

●For SuHaFu 12 and OYa 12, taillights on brake room side are lit (with switch to turn off).
●Reflector, head mark for D51 498 ("SL Minakami", "SL Usui"), head mark for DD51 ("DL Minakami", "DL Usui"), side display sticker included.
●7-car bookcase can store 7 passenger cars and 1 locomotive.
